Collaborative Action Research Projects We have been involved in Collaborative Action Research Projects regionally, on a person to person basis, for many years. These projects have proven to be very rewarding to teachers and very effective in identifying effective teaching methods. While our efforts have been going on for many years on this person to person basis, our pioneering Internet offerings will begin soon. This is truly a memorable event for teachers. All participants will discover if certain methods are more effective for their students in their classroom. Since we will all conduct studies in the same way, with the same analysis and because the Compare Analysis allows for comparison among different groups, this will be a monumental effort to determine the effectiveness of methods across a very wide area with an extremely diverse group of students. After the data is gathered and instantly analyzed for individual classrooms, teachers will have a unique opportunity to share, discuss and extend their learning. Usually only the most motivated and effective teachers participate in our studies; it would be hard to find a more dynamic group to collaborate with on any project. If past experiences are any indication, this will be just the beginning. The synergy of such an experience is truly inspiring. Dialogue reaches a higher level when it is based on real data about a teacher’s actual students. With real methods and real results as a foundation, extremely creative ideas for improved methods will be created. It is expected that most participants will want to continue studying an improved method next winter, we would be eager to coordinate the effort. For many participants this will begin a life long effort to find increasingly effective teaching methods. We are thrilled at the prospect of facilitating these collaborative efforts.
